Vortex Wall Low NOx Burner
Foster Wheeler has a long history of Low NOx combustion solutions for wall fired boilers. We have retrofitted more than 42,000 MW with Low NOx combustion and Overfire Air (OFA) systems.
The latest development in the line of Foster Wheeler Low NOx Burners is the Vortex Series/Split Flame Low NOx Burner. Over 35 units have been equipped with this the Vortex Series Low NOx Burner, firing a wide range of global fuels.
The Vortex Series burner has a simplified design without all the mechanical linkage and vane hardware found on other Low NOx Burners. This design reduces long-term maintenance costs while also providing improved performance. The Vortex register is compact and simpler, with only three moving components.
Our Overfire air systems are designed and sized to deliver the optimal NOx and CO performance. Special attention is paid to resizing the burners, locating the OFA ports, their quantity and size, along with assuring correct sizing of OFA ducts.
