Foster Wheeler's mills are reliable, low maintenance pulverizers suitable for the most abrasive coals and arduous operating duty. As part of an ongoing program to supply replacement parts that will assist our customers in their preventive maintenance
programs, Foster Wheeler has developed state-of-the-art replacement components for all areas of our mill. Quality replacement parts and upgraded design features are available for every size of suction and pressurized mill that we have manufactured.
Dynamic Classifier - The Foster Wheeler Dynamic Classifier (FWDC) has been developed to improve pulverizer capacity, coal particle fineness distribution, and fineness control above the existing capability of static cyclone-type classifiers.

Fire Detection System - Should fires be a problem in the Ball Mill and classifier, Foster Wheeler can design and offer a fire detection system. The system would normally be set up to detect fires in the classifier area of the ball mill.

Steam Inerting System - In recognition of the hazards involved with finely pulverized coal, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) now requires that mills be provided with a means of inerting their interiors during a mill trip. Although older mills may not be equipped with this safeguard, Foster Wheeler highly recommends its consideration, especially if highly volatile fuels are being used.
