  Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer

  Dept Instrument
  Education • Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant design experience in DCS/PLC based systems and field instrumentation for refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants.
  Special Skills • Familiar with PC-based design software for sizing instruments and preparation of materials requisition. • INtools experience will be an added advantage.
  Experience At least 10 – 15 years’ relevant experience in a refinery/petrochemical/chemical/pharmaceutical environment
  Duties - Supporting, whenever required, the Project Manager, in the preparation of the Project Execution Plan. - Highlighting to the Project Team and, if deemed necessary to the D.H., any discrepancy between contractual documentation and the Work Instruction and the engineering practices through a Quality Form. - Review the completeness of the incoming information and data and notify the project team of all deficiencies. - Briefing, verbally, the Instrument Job Team regarding the contractual, technical and timing aspects of the Project. - Preparing the list of the Job Specifications and material requisitions required to comply with the PEP requirements. - Assisting the Instrument Designer in the preparation of the Drawing Index. - Assigning the activities taking into consideration the technical capabilities and the project schedule to the team members. - The coordination of the Job Team taking care of the technical and organization problems and maintaining a steady flow of information and data between the engineering and drafting groups. - Ensuring that the Instrument engineering and drafting activities are developed according to the Contract PEP, to the Discipline Work Procedure and Guidelines. - Giving any required technical assistance to the Instrument drafting group. - Ensuring that the Instrument engineering, Designing, and Drafting activities are carried out within the established time schedule and budget manhours allocated for the Job. - Requesting the proper authorization for any exception or modifications to the established procedures or to Contract requirements. - Requesting the D.H. assistance in solving technical or organisation problems. - The approval according to the established procedures and to the table of signature of the documents produced by the instrument engineers, designers, and draftsmen with the cooperation, when deemed necessary, of D.H. - The preparation and / or reviewing of general specifications and Job Specifications for compliance with the Client's requirements and for their reciprocal consistency. - Reviewing with the Project Engineering Coordinator all the needs and technical aspects which can affect the schedule of the Job and acting as interface with the other specialty Groups. - Coordinating the interfaces with the other disciplines and transmit in due time the required information. - Review together with the D.H., the Vendor List submitted by Procurement Department. - Discussing with the Client Representatives technical problems which might arise during the Job development. - Keeping Contract documents and correspondence filed according to the established filing procedure. - Keeping under control the status and the processing of the revised incoming data and information. - To remind all members of the Job team to observe the ethics of confidentiality on technologies licensed by Clients or Third Parties. - Direct preparation or approval of bid technical evaluations of major items with the cooperation, when deemed necessary, of the D.H. - The preparation and/or review of Sub contract requisitions and enclosed technical documentations. - Ensuring that all Vendor's drawings be promptly reviewed for technical acceptability and compliance with instrument requisitions. - Give assistance in the preparation of Mechanical Catalog. - Attending, as required, the meeting with the project team, the client and the vendors and informing about the actions to be taken. - Participating or assigning a team member to the model review. - Keeping the D.H. continuously informed about the contract activities. - Preparing, on monthly basis the progress report. - Preparing and review together with the D.H., according to the engineering procedures, the project Punch List. - Produce technical transmittal and Design Instructions. - The Lead Instrument Engineer will also perform the duties of the Instrument Engineers. - Issuing the Quality Forms according to the Quality Assurance System Procedure both for System and on Contract. - Implementing the Corrective Action according to the Quality Assurance System Procedure both for System and on Contract. - When nominated by the Discipline Head, act as Quality Correspondent checking and/or approving documents as requested in the Contract Project Execution Plan through the implementation of proper check lists.
